Okay, so my life continues to be crazy. The only difference is, I’m starting to really love it. And I’m starting to love Hanoi as well. It took some getting used to, but this city is pretty amazing. And the food. You guys, Vietnamese food tastes so much better in actual Vietnam. Especially Pho and Bun Cha, I’ve been eating a lot of that. I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon. Hanoi is crazy. It’s been 10 days since I moved, so I’m still very new and I guess it’s normal I feel this way, but seriously. Crazy. I rented out a motorbike 2 days ago, so I can finally ride around by myself, although I’m a bit afraid of doing so. Nobody out on the road here seems to care about any laws, which makes learning how to belong in the traffic even harder. But I taught a few more classes, and I went to another party yesterday. I guess I’m starting to belong. One of my biggest concerns is the lack of the oven of course (that party I went to yesterday? My friends have an amazing one, so I spent a better part of an hour falling in love with their oven). I still have some saved recipes though, so today I’d like to share a recipe for THE BEST chocolate-honey cookies to ever exist.
It’s been a couple of days since I posted, and quite a lot has happened in my life. I successfully moved to Vietnam and I scored my first job as a teacher of English. I’ve been trying to stay on top of everything that is going on online, but it has been a challenge. In the last 4 days I came to Hanoi, moved to a different apartment, went to a couple of job interviews, partied with people I just met and gave my first lesson just today. Hopefully now my life will get more stable and I will be able to post more often. I don’t have an oven yet though, which might get in the way. Fortunately I have some recipes all ready to share with you, starting with this one. Continue reading
It’s a quite busy week for me. My brother is getting married tomorrow, and I’m moving to Vietnam in 5 days. There are a lot of things I still need to take care of before I go, but that didn’t stop me from spending some time in my kitchen. Continue reading
I think it’s safe to assume that we all prefer to make our desserts from scratch. However sometimes we don’t have much time or we just want to try something new, which is how I discovered this recipe. It starts out with a simple cake mix, but it doesn’t finish there. I mean, there is peanut butter. And condensed milk. And chocolate, so much chocolate. Continue reading
My best friend stayed with me for a couple of days this week. We spent most of the time watching our favorite shows (Firefly marathon, anyone?), and eating. There was a lot of “I’m hungry, let’s bake something” late in the evening, so our options were limited. Continue reading
This recipe rocks. There is no fat and no sugar, yet the muffins still taste amazing. All the sweetness comes from bananas and honey, and butter is replaced with Greek yogurt. My mom especially loves it when I bake goodies like these ones, so I do it quite often. Continue reading
