Peanut Butter Oreo Blondies

This is one of my favorite recipes.

I don’t make these bars often, because I really need to have a reason to do so. Which basically means that I need to be really happy. The last time I made them was a couple of months ago. I got home with my best friend and we decided it was a perfect time to bake something. It was close to midnight by the time we finished. We dented a spoon when we were combining the ingredients (still don’t know how), we ate way too much candy before the bars were even out of the oven, and I forgot to take any pictures (gasp!), but they were one of the best bars we’ve ever had.

Update: I’ve finally made these bars again and I took some better photos – I hope that even if you didn’t before, now you’ll believe me when I say they are amazing 🙂

Peanut Butter Oreo Blondies

Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-¾ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅓ cup cream
  • 16-24 Oreo cookies (depends on the size of the pan you choose)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325F. Grease a 9-inch or a 9×13 baking dish (using the second one will result in thinner bars).
  2. In a big bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time and mix.
  3. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until incorporated. Don’t over mix. Add the cream and stir until incorporated.
  4. Transfer half the batter into the prepared dish. Place Oreos on the batter and top with remaining half of batter.
  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes (depends on the size of your pan. It’ll take more time for the smaller one, as the bars are thicker), or until the edges are browning and the middle is set.

Składniki:

  • 150 gram miękkiego masła
  • 1 szklanka brązowego cukru
  • ¼ szklanki białego cukru
  • 170 gram masła orzechowego
  • 1 łyżeczka ekstraktu z wanilii
  • 2 jajka
  • 1-¾ szklanek mąki
  • 1 łyżeczka proszku do pieczenia
  • 1/3 szklanki śmietanki
  • 16-24 Oreo (zależy od wielkości foremki)

Przygotowanie:

  1. Rozgrzej piekarnik do 160°C. Natłuść kwadratową, 20x20cm foremkę, lub foremkę o rozmiarach 22×33 (przy użyciu tej drugiej ciasto wyjdzie cieńsze).
  2. W dużej misce wymieszaj masło, oba cukry, masło orzechowe, i wanilię. Dodawaj jajka po jednym, dalej mieszając.
  3. Dodaj mąkę i proszek do pieczenia, mieszając aż składniki się połączą, jednak nie robiąc tego zbyt długo. Dodaj śmietankę i wymieszaj.
  4. Przelej połowę ciasta do foremki. Ułóż na nim Oreo, po czym przykryj pozostałym ciastem.
  5. Piecz przez 30-40 minut (zależy od rozmiaru foremki. W mniejszej zajmie to więcej czasu, bo ciasto jest grubsze), lub aż brzegi zaczną brązowieć, a środek stężeje.
