Banana Honey Brownies

Image

This recipe is as healthy as it gets with me.

I know, these are brownies. They are supposed to be full of butter, sugar, and chocolate in order to really be worth eating. I always thought so, but stay with me here.

It was late in the evening and I really wanted to bake something. I saw a couple of bananas laying on the kitchen table, right next to a jar of honey. Naturally, I decided to try something new. So instead of baking regular brownies, I substituted all of the butter for the bananas and most of the sugar for honey. However I still added chocolate chunks, because I’m not THAT crazy. Also, there are even no eggs in this recipe. It doesn’t get any simpler.

I was worried that they wouldn’t turn out right or that they would be dry, but they were actually pretty perfect. You don’t miss the butter (or sugar) at all, and you can eat way more! That is a win-win right there.

  • Print

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup mashed bananas (1-2, depends how big they are)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • ½ cup chocolate chunks or chips

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl mix mashed bananas, honey, milk and oil.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chunks.
  5. Transfer the batter into greased (or lined with parchment paper) 9×9 baking dish and place in oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs, but no batter. Be careful not to over bake.

Składniki:

  • 1 szklanka mąki
  • ¼ szklanki cukru
  • 6 łyżek kakao
  • ½ łyżeczki proszku do pieczenia
  • szczypta soli
  • ½ szklanki rozgniecionych bananów (1-2 sztuki, zależy od ich wielkości)
  • ½ szklanki miodu
  • 2 łyżki mleka
  • 2 łyżki oleju
  • 100 gram pokrojonej czekolady

Przygotowanie:

  1. Rozgrzej piekarnik do 170°C.
  2. W dużej misce wymieszaj mąkę, cukier, kakao, proszek do pieczenia, i sól.
  3. W osobnej misce wymieszaj banany, miód, mleko i olej.
  4. Przelej mokre składniki do suchych i wymieszaj, aż składniki stworzą jednolitą masę. Dodaj pokrojoną czekoladę i wymieszaj.
