After months in Vietnam, I’m finally reunited with my oven. I was so eager to bake (and eat!) something, that I forgot to take good pictures, so you will have to trust me when I say these bars are divine.
One of the first things I’ve done once I came back home was making some homemade peanut butter, so a natural next step was baking it into something tasty. There is peanut butter in the dough, and on top of that there is also a layer of condensed milk mixed with peanut butter in the middle of these bars. I’ve also thrown in some chopped chocolate for good measure. It’s safe to say I will be making these again.
Inspiration for these came from the wonderful Averie Cooks. She uses peanut butter chips in her recipe, but I’ve never seen any for sale here, so I just went with what felt more natural. I also added less sugar and made some other tweaks.
