This recipe is without any doubt my favorite one so far this year. There is no butter in it, no sugar.. There is even no flour! They are so healthy it’s justifiable to make them often, which is what I’ve been doing lately. Continue reading

Gingerbread Cookie Bars
Is everybody deep into the Christmas mode already? Probably, right? I will let you in on a little secret – I haven’t bought any gifts yet. I’m going shopping tomorrow, which is pretty much the last possible moment to do so. This year I’m even worse than last time! Fortunately when it comes to testing out the Christmas recipes, I’m doing better. I made these cookie bars almost two weeks ago and they were heavenly. Continue reading
Double Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars
After months in Vietnam, I’m finally reunited with my oven. I was so eager to bake (and eat!) something, that I forgot to take good pictures, so you will have to trust me when I say these bars are divine. Continue reading
Apple Pie Bars
Hi. My days in Hanoi are coming to an end, which feels bittersweet. I love Vietnam, Hanoi is an amazing city, and teaching here has been a privilege, but I also miss home terribly. I can’t wait till I see my best friend and spend three days on a Doctor Who marathon with her again (12 more days, woo!). Continue reading
Plum Crumb Bars
Can you believe we’re already 1/3 through October? Time is running so fast lately, it’s unbelievable. I’m quite busy with work nowadays, which is actually pretty fun – teaching in Vietnam has been an incredible experience. Continue reading
Blueberry Lemon Shortbread Crumble Bars
Okay, so my life continues to be crazy. The only difference is, I’m starting to really love it. And I’m starting to love Hanoi as well. It took some getting used to, but this city is pretty amazing. And the food. You guys, Vietnamese food tastes so much better in actual Vietnam. Especially Pho and Bun Cha, I’ve been eating a lot of that. I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon. Continue reading
Nutella Condensed Milk Cookie Bars
It’s been a couple of days since I posted, and quite a lot has happened in my life. I successfully moved to Vietnam and I scored my first job as a teacher of English. I’ve been trying to stay on top of everything that is going on online, but it has been a challenge. In the last 4 days I came to Hanoi, moved to a different apartment, went to a couple of job interviews, partied with people I just met and gave my first lesson just today. Hopefully now my life will get more stable and I will be able to post more often. I don’t have an oven yet though, which might get in the way. Fortunately I have some recipes all ready to share with you, starting with this one. Continue reading
Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars (made with cake mix!)
I think it’s safe to assume that we all prefer to make our desserts from scratch. However sometimes we don’t have much time or we just want to try something new, which is how I discovered this recipe. It starts out with a simple cake mix, but it doesn’t finish there. I mean, there is peanut butter. And condensed milk. And chocolate, so much chocolate. Continue reading
Carmelitas
In a little over a month I’ll move to Vietnam for a year, to teach English. It seemed like a long time from now, but today I started to get my things together for the trip, and it suddenly has gotten way closer. I can’t wait, but I’m also pretty anxious.. Which is why I needed caramel and chocolate. Continue reading
