This recipe is without any doubt my favorite one so far this year. There is no butter in it, no sugar.. There is even no flour! They are so healthy it’s justifiable to make them often, which is what I’ve been doing lately. Continue reading

Chocolate Apple Pie
I don’t really like having help when I’m baking. I’m more of a ‘if you want something done right, do it yourself’ kinda girl. However, one thing I really hate is peeling and chopping apples. Fortunately when I chose to bake this chocolate apple pie, one of my best friends helped me out. I didn’t even have to ask him! Which is probably one of the reasons why I like him so much. Continue reading
Peanut Butter Granola
I know, I know. My first recipe of 2015 is a healthy one. Stay with me though. Continue reading
Chocolate Darth Vaders (homemade chocolates)
Some recipes are special. This one is one of my favorites not because of the taste (it is pretty rockin though), but because of how it looks. Continue reading
Brown Butter Gingersnaps
Is it freezing over there, too? I’m in a full on tea-and-blanket mode. Obviously what fits to that picture is a plate of cookies. This time I went with a slightly modified classic. These gingersnaps are full of flavor, which is further enhanced by browned butter. I also added more spices than the original recipe called for, and I reduced the amount of sugar, because of course I did. Continue reading
Apple Pie Bars
Hi. My days in Hanoi are coming to an end, which feels bittersweet. I love Vietnam, Hanoi is an amazing city, and teaching here has been a privilege, but I also miss home terribly. I can’t wait till I see my best friend and spend three days on a Doctor Who marathon with her again (12 more days, woo!). Continue reading
Plum Crumb Bars
Can you believe we’re already 1/3 through October? Time is running so fast lately, it’s unbelievable. I’m quite busy with work nowadays, which is actually pretty fun – teaching in Vietnam has been an incredible experience. Continue reading
Blueberry Lemon Shortbread Crumble Bars
Okay, so my life continues to be crazy. The only difference is, I’m starting to really love it. And I’m starting to love Hanoi as well. It took some getting used to, but this city is pretty amazing. And the food. You guys, Vietnamese food tastes so much better in actual Vietnam. Especially Pho and Bun Cha, I’ve been eating a lot of that. I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon. Continue reading
Chocolate Honey Cookies
Hanoi is crazy. It’s been 10 days since I moved, so I’m still very new and I guess it’s normal I feel this way, but seriously. Crazy. I rented out a motorbike 2 days ago, so I can finally ride around by myself, although I’m a bit afraid of doing so. Nobody out on the road here seems to care about any laws, which makes learning how to belong in the traffic even harder. But I taught a few more classes, and I went to another party yesterday. I guess I’m starting to belong. One of my biggest concerns is the lack of the oven of course (that party I went to yesterday? My friends have an amazing one, so I spent a better part of an hour falling in love with their oven). I still have some saved recipes though, so today I’d like to share a recipe for THE BEST chocolate-honey cookies to ever exist.
Coconut Oil Blueberry Cake
It’s a quite busy week for me. My brother is getting married tomorrow, and I’m moving to Vietnam in 5 days. There are a lot of things I still need to take care of before I go, but that didn’t stop me from spending some time in my kitchen. Continue reading
